Job Title: Wireline Operator
Job Summary:
Wireline Operators play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate execution of wireline services on oil and gas rigs. Key responsibilities include planning and preparation, load-out and backload, rigging, equipment maintenance, and assisting with rig-in/rig-out procedures under the direct supervision of the Field Supervisor. The role involves working with various tools and equipment, performing wireline cable tests, and maintaining down-hole tools and auxiliary equipment. Wireline Operators must ensure adherence to safety and quality standards while collecting and reporting accurate data during operations.

Job Summary:

The role involves working with various tools and equipment, performing wireline cable tests, and maintaining down-hole tools and auxiliary equipment. Wireline Operators must ensure adherence to safety and quality standards while collecting and reporting accurate data during operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning & Preparation: Organize and prepare tools, equipment, and wireline units for daily operations, ensuring everything is in optimal working condition.
- Load-Out & Backload: Oversee the transportation and unloading of tools and equipment to and from job sites, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Rigging & Clean-Up: Assist in rigging up and rigging down wireline units, as well as performing clean-up activities at job sites.
- Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on wireline tools and equipment, including servicing various down-hole tools, conducting cable tests, re-heading, and preventive maintenance.
- Job Execution: Assist in rig-in/rig-out procedures and safely carry out operations according to client requirements and operational standards.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Ensure accurate collection and reporting of operational data, maintaining detailed records of job progress.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and policies in accordance with the company's safety management system, ensuring the safety of yourself and your team at all times.
- Quality Assurance: Follow established quality procedures in line with the company’s quality assurance system to maintain the highest standards of service.
- Rotation Schedule: Work a 21-day on and 7-day off rotation, with flexibility for on-call shifts as needed.
- Drive wireline unit to and from various job locations in a safe and timely manner.
- Service and maintain down-hole tools and auxiliary equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Perform wireline cable tests, re-heads, and preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Work under the direct supervision of the Field Supervisor and assist in the execution of rig-in/rig-out procedures.
- Perform general duties as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Maintain reliable transportation for job-related travel.
- License Requirements: A Class 3 or Class 1 operator's license with a clean driving record is ideal, but not required. A Class 5 license with relevant industry experience will be considered as well. Driving abstracts will be reviewed according to the company’s driving qualification standards prior to hire.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in challenging environments.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated mechanical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Shift Work: Must be willing to work a shift schedule, including 24-hour on-call availability and scheduled days off.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel with the wireline crew to various job sites.
- Team Player: A positive attitude with the ability to effectively interact and work within a team environment.
- Safety Commitment: A safety-minded individual who is committed to full participation in required and ongoing safety training as part of the employment.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from job locations.
