The client needed to significantly increase their workforce in a very short space of time in a buoyant market.
Headquartered in Japan, the client was relatively unknown in the local Houston engineering marketplace and needed to grow from 0 to 150 personnel within 12 months. As a new entrant to this competitive landscape, there was a concern that securing key appointments might prove to be difficult when competing with more established EPC companies.
Our Solution
To combat this challenge, NES Fircroft appointed a team to manage the account and work alongside the client’s management team on-site.
We developed:
- A strong informative statement when approaching passive candidates to ensure that the opportunities available were marketed effectively and in a comprehensive manner
- A close working relationship with the HR leadership team to implement clear and robust processes for hiring managers to follow, making their interview and hiring process much more efficient
- A robust on-boarding operation which managed the candidates through the interview process quickly and smoothly, saving both time and costs and furthermore reducing the need for our client to commit heavy internal staffing resource
- Flexible approaches to hire both permanent and contract workers to ensure the best personnel were hired
The Results
NESF successfully staffed the full FEED / EPC projects across the engineering and business support staff functions for the client, working closely with them to establish their brand as a leading Midstream engineering company.
With our assistance, the client was able to:
- reach their project delivery targets through a controlled and cost efficient process
- hire over 200 personnel over a 2 year period
- achieve cost savings of over $1 million
- achieve a 30% reduction in time-to-hire
- enhance their brand - the client is now a well-known company in the national American marketplace
Due to the success of the project, we were enlisted to support the client with strategic leadership executive hiring plans under a long-term partnership agreement, and supported the construction phase of the EPC Cove Point project, plus broader hiring requirements for new ventures into the South American market.
