Our client urgently needed to secure additional resources to improve and manage the health and safety at a fabrication site in Seoul. Following a spike in safety incidents, the client was concerned for the welfare of site personnel and was at significant risk of reputational damage.
Our Recruitment Solution
With our local presence and comprehensive candidate connections, NES Fircroft was asked to establish their entire HSE function to improve their overall site safety, nurture personnel well-being and achieve compliance with safety regulations.
Due to the client’s urgency to rectify their safety practices, we appointed two technical recruitment experts who focused on the immediate hire of nine HSE roles within two weeks.
The client’s specifications for the HSE team included personnel with:
- NEBOSH certifications
- The ability to improve, implement and drive compliance on-site as per industry best practice and local safety regulations
- The drive to transform the safety culture onsite for all stakeholders associated with the project
- The capacity and tenure to revolutionise safety practices for the forecasted remaining eight months of the project
We provided ongoing practical support for each contractor throughout the duration of the assignment. This in turn helped us to create an exceptional working relationship with each contractor which greatly improved the project’s retention rate.
The results
The team’s efforts successfully improved the safety matrix for not only the client’s current project, but also for their future work. We successfully placed nine roles within the two weeks required. Key acheivements for the client have included:
Better safety
An incident free project (since the HSE team was onboarded).
Contract extensions
The contract extension of two key contractors: Lead HSE and HSE Advisor. They were tasked to maintain the project’s safety standards and improve the client’s own safety procedures.
Confidence
By prioritising safety, the client will now return seamlessly to the shipyard, confident in their compliance.
