With a diverse portfolio of light crude oil, primary heavy crude oil, Pelican Lake crude oil and natural gas liquids, they have tremendous development opportunities within the company’s oil sands asset portfolio.
Due to the economic effects caused by the global Covid-19 pandemic, they needed cost saving solutions.
There were several complexities presented through numerous parties in the client’s agency portfolio; limited service offerings, average benefits, high costs, a lack of contractor engagement and payroll issues.
Of all the client’s suppliers, NES Fircroft has the highest amount of contractors with the client and a demonstrable, solid track record of high quality service. After a discussion with the Hiring Manager, our client chose to transition a number of their workforce to NES Fircroft.
Our Solution
Our volume number of contractors, coupled with our developed client relationship meant that we were able to provide a competitive advantage to drive cost savings while maintaining a superior quality of service.
Through our local Canadian office network we were able to provide an on-site presence with ease to engage with contractors face-to-face while onboarding. Due to the working conditions imposed by the Coronavirus, our inductions were completed via video calls where appropriate.
At all times we demonstrated a superior level of service to the contractors to bring their engagement level back up and to help facilitate a positive working environment.
Our Account Management and enhanced service offering included:
- Comprehensive onboarding services and safety ticket tracking which led to the identification of numerous expired / invalid safety tickets missed by previous agencies
- The provision of market-leading contractor benefits which became effective immediately upon their first day with NESF
- Streamlined and consistent payroll
- Regular and consistent contractor check-in calls
The results of our support
Our rapid and practised methodology meant that NESF transitioned nearly 40 contractors less than one week from initial engagement.
Both the client and contractors were extremely happy with the service provided; one of the contractor transitions was purely resultant from word of mouth between the contractors on site.
NESF's Account Manager continues to engage with the hiring managers to further develop the relationship and share new opportunities as the project continues.
