We’re excited to announce that our 3rd annual edition of the Energy Transition Report is now available for download! Following the success of our 2023 release, we have partnered with Energy Jobline once again to provide our clients and candidates with valuable insights into the necessary actions needed to succeed in the changing energy sector.
As one of the largest providers of global engineering and technical workforce solutions, our vision is to deliver the expertise that clients need as they accelerate the transition to sustainable energy production. This effort is essential for securing a brighter future for generations to come.
This year, more than 8,500 individuals participated in our survey, including many from the traditional oil and gas sector and those already engaged in alternative energy solutions. The diverse responses we collected from around the globe, representing various genders, ages, and industry backgrounds, truly reflect the current energy landscape.
In this 2024 report, we revisit several previous themes and explore the following questions:
- If workers feel they have the skills to tackle the changing energy landscape
- Do they want to move sectors? And if they have moved, how did they find it?
- What do they think is holding back the energy transition?
- What are the main factors contributing to a ‘skills gap’
Additionally, we provide information on:
- Global Outlooks: An overview of new changes and policies in various countries, highlighting upcoming projects and anticipated job demands.
- Salary Snapshots: Insights into the most sought-after job titles within the region.
Our survey results indicate that the traditional oil and gas sector continues to attract many workers, mainly due to its renewed focus on carbon capture initiatives. This trend is attracting a younger generation eager to make an impact. At the same time, the renewable sector is thriving, with many professionals in transmission and distribution expressing interest in transitioning to solar energy roles.
At NES Fircroft, we strive to understand our clients' needs and candidates' aspirations. By aligning the right talent with the right opportunities, we aim to foster growth and success in the industry.
With this report, we hope to provide energy professionals with unique, real-world insights into the talent market. We aim to equip businesses with the knowledge necessary to develop a strong EVP that will attract and retain the skilled professionals needed to facilitate the energy transition.
